About Us
Mid-Atlantic Masonry Heat,
is a distributor for the Tulikivi radiant soapstone heat- storing fireplaces from Finland. Our company serves the southeastern United States with a showroom in Charlottesville, Virginia. We have handled sales and installation of Tulikivi fireplaces, bakeovens, and cookstoves exclusively since 1987.
In addition to the standard fireplace models shown in the company brochure and on our website, we offer a range of custom options including passive and heated sitting benches, passive and heated extra courses, wood storage shelves, bakeovens, decorative bas- relief and stone marquetry panels, split stone accents and exteriors, bypass/startup dampers, conversion from base exit to top exit flues, soapstone chimney chases, and Tulikivi soapstone interior chimney systems.
We also supply matching soapstone tile for hearths, walls, and floors. High thermal conductivity and heat storing capacity make soapstone an excellent thermal mass for in-floor radiant heating systems.
Installed price includes site planning, custom design and site specification drawings, custom and decorative options, flue damper/ connector, heat shield for clearance reduction (if needed), local delivery, and assembly on site by experienced, factory-certified Tulikivi installers (required by the manufacturer). Owner provides foundation and chimney. We price by the project and will be happy to give budget estimates by phone.
