Retrofitting a Tulikivi to Your Existing Home

Over the past few years we have seen a growing interest in placing a Tulikivi fireplace into an existing home. However, there is often a perception that this will be a difficult process when in actuality Tulikivi's UL listings and design flexibility make the process relatively straightforward. Tulikivi fireplaces have clearance listings for 3-inches from combustible surfaces. Their design flexibility allows for venting of flue gases from the back, the side or the top. The combination of Tulikivi's clearance listings and venting flexibility allows for more elegant design options than afforded with a typical woodstove or fireplace insert.

  • Neutral Color - Tulikivi's neutral grey color blends well with any interior decor and color scheme

  • For existing floor level hearth - Utilize Tulikivi's UL approved floor heat shield
  • Use existing fireplace chimney - Utilizing a stainless steel liner
  • Add a new chimney - Utilizing double wall insulated stainless steel chimney system which allows for flexibility of location
  • $1,500 Tax Credit - The American Recovery and Reinvestment Act tax credit is a 30% tax credit of up to $1500
        for the purchase of a 75% efficient biomass-burning appliance
